BUCKET LIST: GETTING A FRIEND TO TRAVEL ABOARD

It is essentially the only way to accomplish everything on my Bucket List, traveling has been one of the biggest life changing experiences I have ever had. It has given me a chance to sit back and disconnect from life for a short time. It has also given me the great opportunity to visit new places, see things, and question myself and my own beliefs, allowing me to expand my perspectives.

Now that I have traveled quite a bit and have seen the many ways that people all over the world dress, eat, live, speak and even party, all different from one another, it has been a super powerful experience for me. I can’t imagine anyone not wanting to experience this now.

Traveling has allowed me to the chance to learn new things and meet new people. Such as my trips to Ghana, Kenya and Estonia really opened up my eyes to new possibilities. So when I came to SFU, I spoke about my travels frequently and asked my friends, didn’t they have places they wanted to go and things they wanted to experience and see.

The first excuse I got from most was “I don’t have enough money” or they were scared. Well for me, if you want to do something, you will figure out a way to make it happen. Traveling today has become so much cheaper. Then once you have reached your destination, there are tons of tools to get by, even in a foreign land. Such as couch surfing and even woofing where you can stay for free.

My enthusiasm and Passion have rubbed off on others! I am so excited that I inspired my best friend Jackie to go to India. ,Her parents are from India, but she has never had a chance to visit there herself. Through AIESEC, I am sure she will have an awesome adventure!

Sharing my Passion of traveling around the world to accomplish the things on my Bucket List also inspired my room mate Michelle. She has decided to take a chance and go on a study aboard in Thailand.

Just as much as my travels have educated me and opened my eyes, heart and mind, I am glad to have my Passion inspire others to do the same. I know that after they have broke the ice and began their travels, my two friends will have the same Passion as I do and I hope they are able to inspire others to do the same.
