HOW TO LET GO OF GRUDGES

A client recently shared a situation she was struggling with about a person she hadn’t spoken to in ages. It brought me back to a fall out I had, and how my theory was the reason why we hold grudges is because its our defense mechanism to protect ourselves from a similar situation to repeat itself.

I explored some research on the health consequences; which happened to be negative with studies correlating health issues that will developing high blood pressure, depression and even chronic pain. The psychologist impact could rain from stress, to trouble sleeping just because your letting someone live in your brain.

Best way to deal with a situation like this is to:
1. Leave it : Let go and forgive the person and just drop the situation.
2. Love it: Accept the person and situation and just don’t let it get to you.
3. Change it: Speak to the person or look for a new situation to avoid the grief.
