INSPIRATION: Fight for Freedom

Recently, while having my friend Jackie and her boyfriend Mandeep visit me, we had a talk about Fight of Freedom.

What is Freedom?
One thing we can all agree on is that freedom is pretty broad; it can range from free will, political freedom, economic freedom and so forth. But for this post, lets use this definition that freedom is the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint.

Is Freedom something we need to fight?
In the words of Nelson Mandela, “Only free men can negotiate; prisoners cannot enter into contracts.” But what are we really prisoners of? Is that confinement or physical restraint just mental or does the limitations lie because we put them there. Making everything seem impossible, until of course we challenge ourselves and get it done.

If we release our mind from the chains there would be no need for the fight for freedom because maybe that may not be where you want to focus your energies.

Mandela also said, that “there is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires.”
Reflecting on an email a friend wrote we spend so much time living desires that are usually borrowed from someone else, constantly obessing about things other people have and how if we dont have them happiness will not be achieved. In reality how many of the things we chase are areas we care about?
Choose your focus, have strength, find courage, break those chain and fly away to your personal freedom.
