Home

People say home is where your family belongs, as I sit on our coach that overlooks Cairo, the Nile and the pyramids and the only thought that comes to my mind is that, “the only thing constant is change.”
Home to me is where you find peace.

Returning to my roots; Cairo, a city in distress, diversity, and chaos; the smells, the sounds, the life, it’s overwhelming fascinating. Cairoens live in extreme, it’s a city where it is customary to be hypocritical. Everything revolves on who sees who? and how you should act around who?

The corruption, the poverty, the lack of hope is extremely depressing, but what if you don’t know any better, what else can you expect. How can you appreciate gardens? Clean Air? Systems not based on corruption, robbery and lies. What is that? But then again all dark rooms just need to be lit up. How can we light up such a dark city?

Cairo is also a place where some of my loved ones, people and family who will really go out of their way to help you out. Landscapes, beaches and the warmth of the people are incomparable anywhere else.

But the dark always needs a light.
