4 Reasons why you should Fail & Take a Chance on You!

Earlier this week a client shared that she didn’t feel that she had an opinion and even if she did it wouldn’t matter.

I know a lot of people struggle with believing in themselves….I would lie to say that I didn’t also feel this way at times, but earlier this year I explained the myth of self confidence…and the difference between those who make things happen and those who don’t is based on who is willing to take a chance on themselves.

Be the person who realizes how much they will miss out on if they don’t make things happen.

I think the best way to describe it is thinking of ourselves as trees. We were once seeds planted, through time, with support like water, sunshine and love, we grow.

But in our growing journey, in order to continue to grow, we need to make decisions.

There are no decisions right or wrong… because those choices make us who we are. So here are 4 reasons why you should take a chance on you!

1. Failing is good:

Like my client, many people are afraid to take chance on themselves…too afraid to have an opinion and make things happen….They get so obsessed with failing in a negative context, they forget all the positive, which like Thomas Edison summarized; “ I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

Think about it: when we were kids, maybe you learned how to ride a bike, and fell off over and over again before you were able to fly with the bicycle. Eventually you found it incredible because cycling was like flying.

Life is pretty much the same as when we were kids; unless we fall sometimes and get bruised, we will never be able to succeed. If you don’t learn from any failure that is when you really fail.

2. You’re worth it:

If you don’t think you are worth it, who will? Its crucial to realize that there are no white knights in shining armors, no miracles happening if you don’t believe that you deserve the best of life for yourself.

During my first job, I had a boss who put everyone in the team down, constantly demeaning us. She was so unhappy, she couldn’t see anyone around her happy. Unlike many of my colleagues who hated her, I felt sorry sorry for her, because no one can make you feel as bad as you make yourself.

• You waking up everyday is a choice!
• You going to work is a choice!
• You choosing to feel a certain way is a choice!
• You saying “I’m worth it” is a choice!

3. You can make things happen:

You may not know this about me, but I used to be one of the shyest people in class. I used to be quiet and my life revolved around the books I read.

One day I realized that I either live vicariously through my books or make my own adventures. I started to be vocal, saying out loud what I wanted and working hard to make them happen.

This has led me to so many adventures in over 35 countries, and so many exciting experiences from eating crocodile meat, to traveling to the rainforest of Malaysia to skydiving 4000 feet in Spain.

4. You are enough: I used to spend a lot of time obsessing, doing more, proving myself more…and then I realized that if I spend my time proving myself to everyone I am not enjoying being present.

This change of perception shifted how I perceived my self worth and how I saw the world. I am a woman. I feel deeply. I do the best I can. The best is enough for me because I am enough.

Once you take a chance on yourself, you allow yourself to feel. You allow yourself to express. You allow yourself to be.

If you want to take a chance on yourself, the best way is to start by taking part in our 14 Day Free Fear Challenge.
